This really disappoints me. Not only because this was my only means of transportation and also a birthday gift from my now ex boyfriend, but because I really didn't expect it in the wedge. Perhaps I'm naive. Who knows. Once in a while I'd keep my bike chained up to the railing on my porch next to the door, near the living room window. I live right near the intersection of Alexander and South Ave. It was a Diamond back ladies bike. Still had some tags on it because I was too lazy to take them off. I don't even know why I'm posting this. Perhaps a warning to others... I got the idea to chain my bike up outside as a convenience from lugging it in and out of the apartment and because I saw others do this same thing. Lesson learned. Don't let this happen to you.
are you talking about the guy that pushes a shopping cart up and down the street all the time? I live on that stretch of meigs between clinton and cayuga so I'm quite interested
I'm pretty sure not, this guy usually just has big shopping bags.. I've naturally been very attentive of street traffic this past week, and I saw that guy; he was only raiding garbage cans and recycling bins on sides of houses when I saw him, not actually like going up on our porches and stuff.
This other guy, he's skinnier, almost seems really nice and helpful.. He had a big expectant smile on when I peeked through like I was going to open the door.. He's always real polite when you see him, if you didn't know any better you'd think he was a swell guy.
Last night (Fri-Sat., Sept. 11-12) someone attempted to steal my bike from my back yard. Fortunately I had it u-locked to a steal post. When they were unable to undo this they attempted to take my front wheel, but I had the u-lock on this as well and they gave up. In the morning I found my wheel unhinged from the frame but still locked. Keep your eyes out and lock your bikes well!
Just wanted to let everyone know, the guy is back on the street.. I've just left a few bottles out back waiting for him to come back and my neighbor just told me he was there this afternoon.
I am a peaceful guy, and won't make a call unless I see him trespassing again, but I hope the neighborhood will forgive me if you see him walking with a limp...
