Hi Robert, this is not related to the canal map! I don't have your email address though and wanted to send this over to you- I have a map of the villages in France some of my ancestors came from (genealogy geek that I am) and there is a town just over the German border called Lauterbach, just wondered if you were familiar with it. There are several Lauterbachs in German. Our family came from Heringen in northern German. Lauterbach means loud brook.
