Open call

We are putting together a thang prob after labor day. We've kicked it around and the general gist is a primarily acoustic act - swing, blues, some country and jazz flavors. We'd like to add a bassist (upright +), perhaps some minimal percussion (snare/brushes, cajon), maybe another guitar in lieu of or addition to bass. This outfit could easily go full electric as needed. We are of advancing years but not yet decrepit. Before we dive into the craigslist cesspool, anyone out there interested?

Absolutely no Manilow or polkas!

Permalink Reply by Ryan on August 14, 2009 at 8:59am: I might be up for it, though my schedule will be tight for a while after Labor Day... perhaps until late Sept. I'll no longer be a South Wedger at that point though... my lady & I are moving, probably to the Culver-Merchants area.

At any rate, I play both upright & electric bass, and I might be interested in what you're cooking up... can you give some examples of tunes & bands you're thinking of?

Oh ok, as long as it's not Ogden or such.
This is still brewing and we are trying to decide between a Manilow retrospective done gypsy style or a night of Albanian peasant polkas. Stay tuned.
