We have larger animals, too. A week ago, I was out for a morning walk on Mt. Hope, going by the Patrick Barry property (the old Ellwanger-Barry nursery office now owned by the university), when I startled three deer that were grazing on the front la…
Just part of life in the Wedge. A year or two ago, I was walking down Gregory and saw the biggest raccoon I'd ever seen on a tree trunk five feet from me. At first I worried that it was rabid, but friends told me he was a neighborhood fixture and wa…
If you're familiar with Atlanta, the Wedge is just a bit like Inman Park/Little 5 Points, my old neighborhood.
Agree about Mise en Place, Solera, Tex-Mex, Open Face. Also add Tap & Mallet for both eating & drinking. Equal Grounds is a gay-owned cof…
Another thing to watch is New Digs ( http://www.newdigs.com ). This is a new apartment-hunting site that has just gone live. It's designed by Ben Munson, who also launched this site. Not too much right now, it's very new. But I'd keep an eye on it i…
I have some issues with the fact that the Wedge is somewhat officially defined by SWPC, which is a development agency by city bureaucratic standards (including boundaries) rather than a grassroots neighborhood association that defined itself organic…
I was referring to apartments advertised as being in the Wedge, but really in the Eastern Meigs, Monroe or Union Street areas, some distance from any of the neighborhoods you mention. But more than that, lacking in much of the charm, walkability and…

Gary - yes, we know about the picnic and we plan to be there. Both Jason and I would like to be added to the NUTS list. I can give you my info this evening. Looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the neighbors!

hey gary, no i havent been to the bar on alexander yet.
in regards to the center, we've seen beer drinking , bottles being thrown and smashed on sidewalks and the street, physical fighting, verbal fighting, people being verbally attacked, adults wrestling and blocking traffic in the streets and of course pot smoking and the occasional transaction.
Gary, It would be wonderful if you could make this meeting, being that you had made the attempt to utilize the service in question. If it was up to me, I would of scheduled the meeting for early evening....
So I want to use this site to get more people to have active block clubs like HIckory Nuts and then get someone from those block clubs to come to neighbors council meetings. I just wanted to check with you to see if you would mind me using you and hickory nuts as an example. is it ok if i have people contact you for advise/information on block clubs and such. i was going to do it all though this site so hopefully we would get more people involved. let me know what you think
I promoted you and Shawn to be administrators of the Hickory NUTS group. You should now have a lot more control over members and other functionality... enjoy!
