It's hard for me to discuss my work without sounding, tacky. The fact is that though I've mastered one half of the comic world, I have yet to comfortably tackle the self-promoting business side of things. But I should. Because I don't have a part...

To me, the South Wedge is...
I've lived in the South Wedge my whole life. Now that I am in college I have seen some of the finest cities there are, yet still my adoration for Rochester, specifically the South Wedge glows a deeper red than any other place. I'd like to think of it now as a place of work too, but we'll see.
I'm a resident of... (street name if in the wedge)
Weider Street
About Me:
I am a Junior in college attending SUNY New Paltz. I am enrolled in the BFA program for Printmaking with a minor in Black Studies. It was actually in Black Studies that I realized that once out of college, it would be my goal to give back to the community that brought me where I am now. I hope to do this through artwork. I will be home all of summer this year, and I need a job. It would be really great if I could manage to get one in the South Wedge.

I have a resume and everything!
I will do a good job!

Art, tart, fart.

Dear South Wedge,

Sorry it's been so long since we've spoken but I've been so busy you see, and I've remained so with my job working at the Tap and Mallet. Before you ask; I wash dishes. It's awesome.

Today I tried doing some artwork. Normally I do very little artwork during the summer because I dedicate the rest of the year to making it. I spend the time thinking about things I'll do, mulling over ideas and concepts. Some of my art friends like to tell me about these great projects the… Continue

Saturday night

Dear South Wedge,

Funny how things turn out, as once again I write from the Printmaking Studio. Only this time nobody is here, as it is 8:07 at night. Actually pretty often you'll find people here at this hour, but not today it seems.
Alone here, I play whatever music I want on the speakers.

I had a nasty scare yesterday. Thursday I had a scratchy throat, and friday I felt like crap all day. Convinced that I was coming down with a cold I stuffed my body with vitamin C pills, oranges, orange ju… Continue

Ho hum.

Dear South Wedge,

In less than a week or so I will once again return to your warm embrace for Spring Break. Today's headache is a doosey.
A smarter person would stop complaining and simply take aspirin, I think.

As I write to you I'm on break in my Advanced Intaglio class, a break from what I can't say. For the past week we've been doing critiques in class. I don't mind critiques but they are always awkward and hushed. They should last three hours but due to the slow pace we've had to go on fo… Continue

Tuesday

Dear South Wedge,

I write to you from New Paltz, in the dorm room of my friends. It pains me to think that next semester I won't be able to say that, as they are all splitting ways to get apartments. I guess that's what you do in college. I myself am torn between living on or off campus. But I still feel as though living on campus has the most advantages for me, personally.

Right now I am getting headaches every day because of the seasonal changes in barometric pressure. The same is true when… Continue
